Autumn Fields    Bridport                                                         Watercolour by Suzanne M. Clements
A refreshing change for a Dorset Artist to use a different colour palette.
Autumn is also a beautiful season here in Dorset, changing from so many different hues of green to
Indio sky and ocher fields,  here without trying too hard,  I wanted to show it innate beauty and startling contrast.  Thanks for visiting

Snowdrops Feburary's Promise

Sap green her coat that leads the way
Pushing past the years decay
The moss
The leaves
From whence they lay

She stands upright
So bright and strong
In quite a group tho not forlorn

White and pure her petals splay
In Honour  of the coming day

Warm rays of sun
Melting frost
Releasing memories all but lost

Where out of darkness she arises
With all her beauty and surprises

So still and proud
Her job complete
Brings hope
So white
So pure
So neat

Sweet her air
Humble her bend

Heralding the winters end

Snowdrops By Suzanne Clements

A bad witch's blog: Snowdrops in fable and folklore

Interesting folklore about snowdrops, I did not know all this in writing a poem for Nan.

I will post the poem in the next post , strange the knowing? And the unknowing?

A bad witch's blog: Snowdrops in fable and folklore: Snowdrops are among the best loved flowers of the spring - probably because they are often first to bloom. Snow might still be on the ground...
